Wild Alaska halibut is a great fish to use for tasty fish cakes that kids will love! Make this easy sugar free ketchup as a dipping sauce.

Alaska Halibut Fish Cakes

Ingredients
- 1 cup strained tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons tomato paste
- 1 small onion
- 2 tablespoons date or maple syrup
- 14 teaspoon curry powder
- 34 cup water
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 10 ounces Alaska halibut fillets
- 1 onion
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon flour
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil for frying

Instructions
- Peel and dice the onion.
- Put all ingredients in a small pot and simmer for about 10-15 minutes on medium heat.
- Finely puree everything and pour into a clean jar with a lid and store in the refrigerator.
- Peel the onion and cut it in half. Put all the ingredients in a blender and pulse to finely chop. Form patties from the mixture.
- In a non-stick frying pan, heat the oil and fry the fish cakes on medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve the halibut cakes with ketchup.

Notes
